This lovely little reservoir is tucked away in the hills approximately 4 miles east of Crawford. The construction of the reservoir was undertaken by German prisoners of war in the First World War. The location of the POW camp is not known but is likely to be situated on one of the slopes downstream from the dam site.
Looking across the intake tower towards the corner of Craig Hill.
The route is uneven and wet in places there walking boots recommended. The area is exposed so make sure you have appropriate outdoor waterproof clothing.
