Starting just outside the village of West Linton we trek along an old Roman road at the foot of Mendick Hill (and running parallel to the A702) before turning in a north-westerly direction making for the village of Garvald.  From there we walk cross moorland passing a couple of cairns erected by the Covenanters in the early/mid 17th century.  Passing through West Linton Golf Course we return to our start point.

This walk uses a variety of terrain - grassy/moorland paths, farm tracks and tarred roads.  Some paths can be muddy in places therefore waterproof footwear is required and appropriate outer clothing is recommended should the weather be inclement as the majority of walk is exposed.
