Leaving the Summerlee Heritage Museum in Coatbridge, we walk to the now dried out Monkland Canal Basin before joining the canal itself.  A walk along the towpath brings us to the edges of Drumpellier Country Park.  Walking through woodlands we come to Lochend Loch, rich in a wide variety of water fowl.  A walk round the loch takes us back into more woodland/grassland before returning to the canal towpath and eventually back to the start point.

This walk uses well defined woodland and canal tow paths.  Some of these paths can become muddy in places and therefore waterproof walking boots/shoes recommended.
