Shoebox Appeal 2021

Prior to the Covid19 outbreak in 2020, it was our custom to celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving by supporting the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal.

As last year, it has not been possible, this year, to offer this support at St John's but our friends in Kirkton Church have made arrangements to receive shoeboxes.  If you do not have a suitable box, there will also be some available and to purchase hats, gloves etc.  This year you are also able to drop off items in drawstring bags (like a gym bag) if you are struggling to get a shoe box.  The bags should ideally be a maximum of 500mm x 300mm and not be plastic. Please note that underwear has been added as an essential item for this year's boxes.  A full list of acceptable items can be read/downloaded from the Blythswood Care website.

You will be able to pick up/drop off a shoebox at Kirkton Church before and after Sunday morning services from Sunday 20 September 2021.  The filled shoeboxes will be uplifted by Blythswood Care towards the end of October

If you would prefer to make a financial donation, plans are being made to acquire and distribute giving envelopes (details to follow) or sent directly to Blythswood Care at Highland Deephaven, Evanton, ROSS-SHIRE, IV16 9XJ.  Cheques should be made payable to Blythswood Care and placed in a sealed envelope with a note to say that the donation is for the Shoebox Appeal.   You can also donate on-line on the Blythswood Care Website
